O.3. Your OBSERV paired with the Hands Extension kit is now ready for use
Before starting the picture taking process ensure the hands of the client are clean, preferably without nail polish.
Ask the client to remove any watches, rings, or bracelets.
1. Adjust the height of the Mobile Stand so that the client can position their hands in the Hands Lightshade while keeping a comfortable position with a straight back. 2. The thumbs should be on top to be able to take pictures of the back of the hand.
O.4. Client positioning
There are two options for the positioning:
1. Remove the Hands lightshade from the OBSERV
Remove the Hands lightshade from the OBSERV and let the client position their hands inside the lightshade, slightly turning the lightshade so the client can see where they put their fingers. When the hands are positioned correctly, the client can walk towards the OBSERV and the Hand lightshade will snap into place. Instruct the client to keep still during the capturing process.
2. Let the client position their hands while the Hands lightshade is already attached to the OBSERV.
Give instructions on how to position all fingers into the slots correctly. For the positioning of the hands it is important that all fingers are in their designated slots. Move the hand into the slot until the patient feels the edge with one finger for each hand. For most people this is the middle finger. It is normal that not all fingers reach the end of the slot. You are now ready to start taking pictures with the OBSERV app.
O.5. Tips and Tricks
1. Additional instructions on cleaning the hands In order to be able to get the most out of all lightmode images of the hands, it is imperative that the hands are completely clean and depleted from any residue. Find the most suitable way of cleaning below:- Ask the client to wash their hand using the standard protocol for hygienic hand washing with a mild soap and rinse thoroughly.- Dry the hands with a microfiber towel or cloth that leaves none to minimal residuals. - Give the hands and cuticles a final cleansing with a micellar water-based cleaner. 2. Preventing reflectiveness in True UV and Woods - Ensure the client removes all jewellery and watches before putting their hands in the Hands Lightshade. Some nail polishes are very reflective underneath the True UV and Simulated Woods lights. If a client is not able to remove their nail polish, you can use one of the following tips to prevent fluorescence:- Use nail clips made from UV-resistant material to cover up fluorescent nails.- Apply mineral SPF to the nails. Pay attention to the edges, avoid application to the skin - Apply a black non-residual tape on the top of the fingers.
O.6. Trouble Shooting
1. The app does not pair with the OBSERV- Check if the OBSERV is powered on and Bluetooth is switched on your iPad. - The Bluetooth is allowed to make a connection, and the airplane mode is off.- Check in the app settings on your iPad the app is allowed to use Bluetooth. 2. In case the images are vague, distorted or appear blurry please check the list below for possible solutions:- Clean the camera lens of your iPad with a soft towel. - Clean the lens of the iPad visor with a soft towel. - Check if there is no residue left from the protective foam on the lens of the iPad visor. - Check if the protective film inside the OBSERV is removed from the transparent screen. - Clean the transparent window inside and outside of the OBSERV.
